WALK & TALK THERAPY

If you're considering counselling for the first time, it's natural to feel apprehensive about sitting across from someone you don't know.

Face-to-face counselling can feel intimidating, particularly when you're already feeling vulnerable. If that's the case, Walk & Talk Therapy may offer a more comfortable way to begin.

Instead of meeting in a counselling room, sessions take place outdoors while we walk together at a comfortable pace. Walking gives conversation a different rhythm, and for some people, that simply feels more comfortable.

Walk & Talk Therapy might be for you if:

  • You feel nervous about starting counselling.

  • Talking feels easier when you're walking rather than sitting face to face.

  • You find professional settings uncomfortable or intimidating.

  • You enjoy spending time outdoors and feel calmer in nature.

  • You would like to combine gentle movement with emotional support.

  • You're experiencing loneliness and would value connection in a relaxed environment.

  • You're a parent with a young child and find walking with a pram more practical than attending an office appointment

THE BENEFITS OF
WALK & TALK THERAPY

Walk & Talk Therapy combines the benefits of counselling with the gentle movement of walking outdoors. For some people, being in nature and walking alongside their counsellor creates a more relaxed environment for conversation and reflection.

When the weather allows, Perth's natural surroundings offer a peaceful setting that many people find calming and restorative.

There are many benefits to Walk & Talk Therapy:

  • Creates a more relaxed setting for conversation

  • May help reduce stress and emotional overwhelm

  • Supports emotional regulation and reflection

  • Can make counselling feel less formal

  • Offers time to slow down and reconnect with yourself

  • Combines emotional support with the benefits of being outdoors
