HEALING WITH ECOTHERAPY
NATURE-BASED COUNSELLING

The connection between humans and nature has deep and ancient roots. Spending time outdoors can help clear the mind, lift the mood, and ease stress. Ecotherapy builds on this natural connection, combining the therapeutic benefits of nature with talk-based counselling in an outdoor setting, right here in Perth’s northern suburbs.

How Ecotherapy Helps

Ecotherapy is grounded in the belief that reconnecting with nature supports emotional, mental, and physical wellbeing. In your Ecotherapy sessions, I support you in engaging with your natural surroundings, helping you tune into your senses and access a deeper understanding of yourself.

Why Choose Ecotherapy?

If yoIf you’re seeing a counsellor for the first time, the idea of sitting face-to-face in a room might feel intimidating. Many people find that walking or sitting in nature makes it easier to talk, especially when feeling vulnerable or overwhelmed. Nature offers calm, movement, and space — all of which can support the therapeutic process.

Ecotherapy Options

I offer two Ecotherapy formats: Walk & Talk Therapy and Therapy in the Park. Both involve counselling in natural settings but are tailored to suit different needs and preferences.

Walk & Talk Therapy

Walk & Talk Therapy takes place while walking through a local park. It blends the benefits of gentle physical activity and fresh air with the depth of a counselling session. Many people find the movement grounding and the natural environment helps them open up more easily than in a traditional office.

Therapy in the Park

This option is ideal for people who prefer to stay seated or whose mobility may limit walking. We find a quiet, private spot in nature and hold your session there. It offers a peaceful environment to slow down, reflect, and connect, both with yourself and the world around you.

WALK & TALK THERAPY

Is Walk & Talk Therapy Right for Me?

Walk & Talk Therapy may be a good fit if you feel more at ease moving than sitting still, or if traditional counselling settings feel too formal or confronting. It’s particularly helpful for those who find it easier to open up while walking,

enjoy being outdoors, or want to incorporate gentle movement into their routine.

This approach can also suit parents who need a flexible option, such as bringing a baby in a pram, or anyone who feels more grounded and calm in nature.

What to Expect

Your first session will take place in my Girrawheen office, where we’ll discuss your goals and assess whether Walk & Talk Therapy or Therapy in the Park is right for you. If suitable, your next session will be held in a nearby park.

Sessions run for 75 minutes and combine therapeutic conversation with the soothing presence of nature and movement. You’ll be walking at your own pace, with regular pauses if needed, there’s no pressure to perform, only space to be yourself.
